On March 25th, Professor Liu Jieming, Dean of Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT), joined União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM) Vice President Law Tak Ming and other representatives to jointly inaugurate the "Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Joint Training Base for Social Work Professionals". Established by WHUT and União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM), the base aims to explore innovative models for cultivating social work talent in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promote the deep integration of livelihood services between Hengqin and Macao. Participants included Professor Liu Jieming, Associate Dean Bu Qingping, Professor Qin Qin (Head of Sociology Discipline), União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM) Vice President Law Tak Ming, União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM) Guangdong Office Director Tian Yi, and União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM) Guangdong Office Deputy Director Liu Zhifeng.

Dean Liu Jieming delivered remarks, expressing gratitude for União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM)’s longstanding trust and support. He emphasized that the establishment of the training base would create an innovative model for social work education, enabling students to enhance professional competencies and practical skills while fostering compassionate, responsible multi-talented professionals for improving livelihoods and social harmony in both regions. União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM) Guangdong Office Director Tian Yi also thanked WHUT for its partnership, stating that the joint training base would provide critical support for elevating the professional standards of community services in Hengqin.

Following the inauguration ceremony, Dean Liu Jieming and his delegation visited the Guangdong Office of União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM), where they inspected key facilities including the Senior Dining Halland Home-based Elderly Care Service Center. The delegation gained in-depth insights into União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau(UGAMM)’s innovative models for delivering community services in Hengqin, particularly focusing on cross-border collaboration between Macao and Guangdong.
