On the morning of March 26th, Professor Liu Jieming, Dean of Wuhan University of Technology(WHUT), visited the Faculty of Law, Macau University of Science and Technology(MUST). During the meeting with Dean Fang Quan and Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions on disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and research collaboration, aiming to inject new momentum into the collaborative development between the two faculties.‌

At the symposium,Dean Fang Quan welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the Faculty’s scale, teaching characteristics, academic research platforms, and international exchange programs. He highlighted the Macau Intellectual Property Center (a Key Partner Base for Humanities and Social Sciences (Overseas) under the Ministry of Education) and the Intellectual Property Law Alliance of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (IPLAG),which the Faculty leads.Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng shared insights on joint talent cultivation and collaborative exchanges.

Dean Liu Jieming expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced WHUT’s strengths in industrial jurisprudence, applied jurisprudence, and intellectual property. He proposed leveraging complementary strengths to establish joint research platforms in intellectual property protection, launch dual-degree talent cultivation programs, co-host international academic conferences as well as promote sharing of academic resources and transformation of innovative achievements. Associate Dean Bu Qingping introduced WHUT’s history, disciplinary structure, research initiatives, and talent programs, including the Hubei Intellectual Property Research Center (a provincial key research base). He also exchanged views on faculty recruitment policies and benefits.Professor Qin Qin contributed perspectives on collaborative training opportunities.

Subsequently, the two delegations exchanged souvenirs as a symbol of their partnership.

The visit significantly strengthened the foundation for collaboration between the two faculties. Looking ahead, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in joint talent cultivation, academic exchanges and intellectual property practice and so on,which aims to jointly advance the high-quality development of legal studiesin the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
